Why Facebook/Instagram/Whatsapp was down?

Across Globe FB/Instagram/Whatsapp was not reachable almost for 6 hours and aforementioned companies have lost > 100M USD.
Mainly this incident was happened due to BGP protocol, the company tech team thought they have sent an update all router and by saying that all previous path was removed. So, FB/Whatsapp/Instagram servers become completely out of reached to everyone.
